PRIVACY POLICY

Buyingblock's Privacy Principles: Buyingblock Mortgages Inc. ("Buyingblock", "We", "Us", etc.) helps its customers to find the right residential or commercial mortgage. In the course of its business activities and, in particular, facilitating customers' access to suitable mortgages, Buyingblock collects their personal information. Buyingblock recognizes the importance of protecting the personal information that it holds. This Privacy Policy outlines Buyingblock's policies and procedures regarding its collection, use, retention and disclosure of such personal information.

Buyingblock's privacy principles only apply to personal information about identifiable individuals. They don't apply to business information, for example, the name, title, business address or telephone number of an officer or employee of a corporation or other organization.

Why Do We Collect Personal Information? Buyingblock collects personal information to determine each customer's financial position and credit record, and otherwise to assist in selecting the mortgage and mortgage lender best suited to such customer. Buyingblock also collects personal information when a person provides us with their contact information in order to receive specific information that they have requested.

How Do We Collect Personal Information? Buyingblock only collects personal information by lawful means, and only collects information that is reasonably necessary for the stated purposes. In most cases, and whenever possible, we collect the personal information directly from the customer. We also obtain personal information from the customer's lenders, financial institutions, credit bureaus and employers. Buyingblock rarely collects a customer's personal information without that customer's express consent, but such a situation might occur where Buyingblock reasonably believes that the customer would consent if asked and it is impossible or impractical to obtain consent.

How Do We Use Personal Information? Buyingblock may use personal information: to provide its mortgage brokering and other services; for billing, record-keeping and other customer contact and service matters; to assess the credit eligibility of customers; for audit and record-keeping purposes; for verifying compliance with applicable laws; for account collection purposes; to manage and develop Buyingblock's business and operations; to learn about the needs of current and potential customers, to develop, or offer services and products tailored to those needs and to communicate with those customers regarding current and future products and services; to follow up on customer comments and suggestions.

Disclosure of Personal Information: Under normal circumstances, Buyingblock will only disclose personal information for purposes related to the provision of one or more Buyingblock services to a customer, or with the express consent of such customer, or if required or authorized by law. For example, Buyingblock may disclose a person's personal information when a service being provided necessitates giving such information to one or more third parties, such as a bank or other financial institution.

If Buyingblock or its assets were to be sold, the prospective purchaser would normally conduct a 'due diligence' review of Buyingblock's records. This could involve a review of Buyingblock's files, including personal information. However, any such review would be subject to strict confidentiality provisions, and would not permit the recording or removal of any personal information.

Consent To Collection, Use and Disclosure: We may obtain a person's consent to the collection, use and disclosure of his or her information either expressly, for stated purposes (such as in a credit application or a request for information), or impliedly, as when the purposes are indicated by the relevant circumstances. Any such consent may be withdrawn or amended by contacting Buyingblock, subject to any legal or contractual restrictions and upon reasonable notice to Buyingblock. A person's consent to Buyingblock's collection of personal information may be required for Buyingblock to provide its services. However, Buyingblock will not require, as a condition of providing its services, that any unrelated personal information be collected.

Retention and Destruction of Personal Information: Buyingblock normally retains a person's information for five years after that person's last contact with Buyingblock. This ensures that Buyingblock is able to answer questions about its services previously provided. Inactive customer files are destroyed after five years, unless Buyingblock receives a request to destroy such information earlier.

Updating Information and Correcting Errors: Since Buyingblock uses a person's personal information to provide its services to him or her, it is important that such information be accurate, complete and up-to-date. If any of your information changes, please inform us so that we can make any necessary changes. If we hold information about you and you advise us that it is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, we will take appropriate steps to correct it.

Is Your Personal Information Secure? Buyingblock uses industry-standard security measures to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, use or modification. Such measures will vary depending on the sensitivity, amount, format, nature and storage of the personal information, and will involve, as applicable, physical, organizational and electronic security measures, including premises security, restricted file access, technological safeguards including security software and firewalls to prevent unauthorized computer access, and password and security policies. Buyingblock also requires that third party service providers to whom personal information may be transferred provide a level of security for such personal information that meets standards established by Buyingblock.

Regular Email Communications: Communications between customers and Buyingblock through this website are protected by encryption. However, Buyingblock cannot ensure the security of personal information transmitted by regular email, which is not a fully secure medium. Please do not include private and sensitive information in emails to Buyingblock, including, but not limited to, bank account numbers, balances, passwords, etc. Buyingblock will not be responsible for any losses you may suffer if you transmit confidential or sensitive information to us through regular email.

Access to your Personal Information: We will respond promptly to any request for access to your personal information. There will be no cost for reasonable requests to such access, unless you request copies of records or your request involves significant retrieval costs. We will advise you of the cost, if any, prior to retrieving such records or information. Buyingblock will not respond to requests for access to personal information that are frivolous, vexatious or repetitious.
